Description

The Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program awards rent-free, private studios to 17 visual artists for year-long residencies with the mission to provide working studio space and community for artists. Our studios are located at 20 Jay Street in Brooklyn, NY in the robust arts community of DUMBO. The 2025-2026 Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program residency period will last from September 2025 through August 2026, with an open studios weekend held in the spring of 2026. The program is open to professional visual artists, 21 years or older who live in the US, as well as US citizens or permanent residents living abroad. Applicants may not be enrolled in any degree program, participate in any other residency program, or maintain a separate studio during their residency. Artists are selected annually based on merit from a competitive pool of applicants by a professional jury comprised of artists and members of the SWSP Artists Advisory Committee. We look forward to welcoming artists from across the United States to our studios in the fall.
