Call to Artists
The Louisiana Crafts Guild is bringing back Open Studio Acadiana and inviting artists and craftspeople with studios across the 705 zip code/Acadiana region to join us during this weekend-long celebration of Louisiana arts and crafts. Occurring annually the weekend before Thanksgiving, Open Studio Acadiana engages the local community to show their art and crafts where they are made and collaborate with others to host artists and craft demonstrations in Acadiana. Participation is *FREE to be listed among the event’s print guide and website and to display in our exhibit at the Acadiana Center for the Arts. Below are two ways you may participate in this year's event: 1. Open Your Acadiana Studio / Gallery / Home OR Host An Event (*Free participation) Whether your workshop is open to the public, or in your home, or you’ve found space elsewhere in your community to display and demonstrate art, each year Open Studio Acadiana lets the public know where you are and that the space is open for visitors. We encourage artists and makers to provide the public with unique experiences by hosting demonstrations of their craft, special exhibitions, markets, and the like. 2. Vend at Festival des Arts à Maison Stéphanie ($60 to participate in this two-day show with overnight security) If you are unable to host the public in your space, Maison Stephanie in Arnaudville offers artists and craftspeople from all areas to vend and demonstrate their works on the grounds of this historic bed and breakfast. This event will feature live music by the region’s talent.
